Too Many Tools

So, I was doing a random image search on "longarm quilters" to see what and who is exciting and new out there. What I found was another tool/ruler/gadget. I won't name names, but there is a famous quilting duo, that has a "binding tool" that is supposed to make it easier to make the diagonal seam on the binding easier. Easier? I'm confused. I wasn't aware that the ruler I've been using for 10+ years won't let me do the same thing...

Now don't get me wrong, I love new tools that will make my life easier when I quilt. I'm just not so sure how I feel about buying tools that are so specific, when my regular ruler is perfectly capable of doing the exact same thing. It feels l
