Explorations

After reading an article in Cloth, Paper, Scissors, I decided to try a product called gouache. It works a bit like watercolors, but dries very quickly, and requires little water. It seems to have the feel of tempera paints when it dries. The biggest difference is that it is opaque, allowing more vivid colors and also letting you layer colors to some degree.

I'm doing these as prep work for the project I want to start next.

This one is a bit different, I used Inktense pencils for the background - it works rather well on the watercolor paper. The orange/brown area is where I put the gouache on top of the Inktense background.

Off to work on some more.
